SVMS-01O Over Flag

My second completed model kit. I kept the color scheme for the most part, I got rid of the white and switched some of the gray and black pieces. A few mistakes here and there, you'll probably see a few seam lines (I'm still figuring those out for some areas). But overall I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, it was learning experience.

Latest Beer Label

"Hoity-Toity Microbrew Beer" I think the label explains itself as far as what I was going for. Didn't really try anything difficult or new with this one, just tried to have some fun with it. Also, the beer we brewed came out really good. If you're going to brew at the Brew Kettle I highly suggest brewing the Helles Bock beer.

Hammerhead SHARKS!

Here's a logo I did for the "Huntington Park Hammerhead Sharks" swim team. They were looking for a mean looking shark nothing too kiddy. They wanted it to be aggressive and show a sense of speed and I think it does those things. It was received well and as far as I know they plan to use it. You may have noticed I gave it reptilian like eyes. Round fish eyes look to happy and nice, this guy needed to look mad and dangerous. Reptile like eyes convey that way better.
AHHH! SHARK!____\o/_____/\______

Desktop Wallpaper

Just finished designing this wallpaper to be used by the company I work for "ARES Corporation". It will be available to all employees to use if wanted, and be used on visitor and public computers in the offices. I used some images to represent just some of the fields ARES is in and used colors that the company leans towards in their marketing materials. This was a lot of fun since there weren't many guidelines I had to follow, and it took relatively little time to do compared to most my projects. This was also the first draft I did, it's rare that the first draft is okayed.

NASA "STEP" Roll out Poster

This poster was extra fun to do because I got use a studio with lights and a green screen to get the silhouetted back shot of my friend and coworker Matt Porter.

I don't usually put up work stuff, but this one came out particularly good and it's more interesting than the usual stuff I do.
The idea behind the poster is the person looking up at Mars asking himself if he is ready for the task at hand to do what it takes to get there.

This is going to be the poster the NASA Safety Center is going to use to roll out their new online training courses called "STEP" (SMA Technical Excellence Program). You read it right, there's an acronym with in an acronym. NASA likes it's acronyms.

Beer Label

Here is the latest beer label I created for the beer I'm brewing. I painted the boxer with Photoshop and a WACOM tablet. It's the first thing I've painted with the tablet. I think it came out alright. I would've liked to of put him in a more dramatic pose, and I'm not crazy about the left eye. I had very little time to do this because I put it off to the last minute, so I just went with what I had. The beer is an Amber ale, so I used colors that would represent that.

Here is the label I did for the beer I brewed last year. This one I thought came out okay, but I have a lot of problems with it. This was more of an experiment, I've never made a beer label before so there were a lot of things that I wanted to try out. Unfortunately I used too many elements in it and it feels like a mix of ideas, and too me looking at it now it looks more like student work than professional (not that the one above looks pro, but it's at least a step in the right direction). However, there were elements that I liked and used them in the latest label up top.
